Landis Gathering

Last Friday Dustin and I had the pleasure of having the Landis side of the family over
for a birthday celebration! It was another way of saying 'thank you' for all their support and encouragement they've shown with our house. I'm very thankful to be apart of another great family. When I married Dustin, I not only gained a husband but another mom, another dad, two more sisters, three more brothers, 3 nieces and 3 nephews! And each one has been such a blessing to me.

My adorable nieces and nephews, minus one.

Happy Birthday!

mingling..

As I prepared the food for the night, Mom Landis (the Pro) was right there beside
me helping me and reminding me of the little details I had forgotten. She's done this one too many times. :)

Kyle & Kyla
Right before I took the picture I told them I wanted to see their teeth...never a dull moment. :)

Mom Landis & Chris in deep conversation?

 Karen and her son.
I have much respect for Karen. She takes care of her husband and her two rambunctious boys and still has a great sense of style. She's a great friend. :)

Mom Landis, Selah and the newest edition to the family, Leah! (son to be sister-in-law)

Cheryl, my other beautiful sister and her... special daughter. :)
Wonderful friend and mentor to me. She has 3 girls and a boy all under the age of 7.
She is a great example of strength.

Davy and baby brother dustin - nothing but trouble.

Trip to Newport, PA

A couple of days ago, my mom, my oldest sister and my niece had the pleasure of taking a small road trip to Newport, PA. (My other sister was not able to be there that day and was very much missed!) I had stumbled upon this little town with a friend a year ago and had discovered a great antique store along with a cute cafe right next to it. If you're into finding unique antiques for great prices then this is a place to visit. This has been our second trip. Mostly likely this will become a yearly event. :)

Off to Carpetbagger Collectibles to find some treasures...

I had success finding this beautiful cedar chest that my mom
graciously helped pay for as an anniversary gift.
I'm excited to find the perfect spot for it when my house is finished.

Time to go home...

Two Years With My Best Bud.

This weekend we celebrate 2 years of marital bliss!! Ok, so we're not that experienced when it comes to marriage.. but I don't believe you have to be, to experience the Lord's work. He has brought us far in the past two years and just as we continue to fix our house together, He will most certainly do the same to us. Repairing our hearts so they are transformed into the couple he desires us to be. In the past two years I've learned that marriage involves submission, humility, respect, love and a sense of humor. As much as those words have been ingrained in my head from the start, I'm reminded of how often I fail to carry those actions out. However, I am hopeful because I serve a God of grace. Pray that we will continue to be intentional about our vows to each other and to God. I'm brought back to the picture of Christ’s relationship with the Church, a glimpse of the joy and unity that will one day be made perfect at the coming of His Kingdom. Can I get an Amen?

August 17th, 2007 ~ what a fun day!

Happy Anniversary Babe! :)

Starting July off with a Bang!

My husband and I have been trying to find a good time
for us to slip away from the daily grind and enjoy some
beach time. My parents gave my husband a gift
certificate at Browns Nostalgia Bed & Breakfast for his birthday
back in March. Finally we were able to use it!!

...followed by a night out on the boardwalk

Mac & Mancos.... the best.

After breakfast the next day,
we took an early morning joy ride to the bay

...back to the boardwalk!

Just before we left to go home we were able to watch
it rain from a far distance.
I want to go back. :(

Friday I was able to spend the afternoon with
my mom helping her with a project she's been wanting to get done.
In return, she helped me with a project of my own. We were each others motivators.
My project was to put more color around my house
to make it look more inviting. My mom took me to Funk's, helped me pick
out some flowers and gave me a lesson on the art of potting plants!

Friday Evening my husband and I got together
with our Sunday School class to watch fireworks
in Willow Street. Followed by McDonald's ice cream
and late night chat fest!

Some of the girls in our Sunday School Class...

Saturday, we were invited to a family 4th of July party
at the Kilheffer farm.  After a relaxing evening of food
and chatter we went deer spotting!

Quietly we walked through the fields as we took
in the beautiful farmland.

Cousins, good friends
