Living Room - Before and After

I am so proud of my husband's accomplishments this past year. He has given parts of our house life that didn't exist when we first arrived. His determination and diligence have inspired me and I am blessed to have a guy work so hard to give me a beautiful home.

(To sum it up, the living room consisted of knocking down a wall (as seen below with the door) between two rooms, bringing down a plaster ceiling, adding recess lighting, re-adding a drywall ceiling, lots and lots of spackling and sanding, 3 coats of paint on the walls and trim, adding wood flooring to the second half of the room, sanding and staining all of the floors twice, powder coating the radiators, and creating a stone veneer wall for our wood stove. Not to toot his horn but, he did all of this in 4 months while working full time. Whew...)

He's Done It Again!

My early christmas present...

Once again my husband has worked very hard to make our living room an actually place to live. We can officially say our living room is finished! However, our first order of business was to put in the wood stove.

Trying to applying the mortar between the cracks. Trying is the key word here. It's very difficult to squeeze out thick, heavy mortar though a grout bag

Smiling as he smoothes out the mortar between the cracks
