An August Wedding

Last Saturday, I had the privilege of going to a beautiful wedding. The bride and groom both being my friends. The bride looked like she walked out of a fairy tale! I also had the priviledge of creating the invitations and programs for their special event. It seems like yesterday we were sitting at Starbucks back in March coming up with the design. Having a great eye of her own made the process even more fun.. she was so great to work with

nicely by the green bouquet. (Also the colors used in the invitations and programs)

My husband worked all morning at the house sanding, covered head to toe in dust.
He cleans up nicely don't you think? :)

My long lost friend from Texas! Personally, this was a thrill for me. For 20 years, I grew up in a tiny old church all the way over in New Holland with this girl. Although we didn't go to the same school, and have gone our separate ways since college, she has always remained a faithful friend to me. The last time I had seen her was 3 years ago at her beautiful wedding. Reuniting for 10 minutes was not enough time to catch up but it felt like we picked up right where we left off. As quick as it was, I was so thankful to see that smile of hers in person!

When you're looking for a good laugh, leave it up to the Herr boys to make it happen.

Always looking for a good time...

It was a fun evening!

Starting July off with a Bang!

My husband and I have been trying to find a good time
for us to slip away from the daily grind and enjoy some
beach time. My parents gave my husband a gift
certificate at Browns Nostalgia Bed & Breakfast for his birthday
back in March. Finally we were able to use it!!

...followed by a night out on the boardwalk

Mac & Mancos.... the best.

After breakfast the next day,
we took an early morning joy ride to the bay

...back to the boardwalk!

Just before we left to go home we were able to watch
it rain from a far distance.
I want to go back. :(

Friday I was able to spend the afternoon with
my mom helping her with a project she's been wanting to get done.
In return, she helped me with a project of my own. We were each others motivators.
My project was to put more color around my house
to make it look more inviting. My mom took me to Funk's, helped me pick
out some flowers and gave me a lesson on the art of potting plants!

Friday Evening my husband and I got together
with our Sunday School class to watch fireworks
in Willow Street. Followed by McDonald's ice cream
and late night chat fest!

Some of the girls in our Sunday School Class...

Saturday, we were invited to a family 4th of July party
at the Kilheffer farm.  After a relaxing evening of food
and chatter we went deer spotting!

Quietly we walked through the fields as we took
in the beautiful farmland.

Cousins, good friends

We saw some deer!

Movin' Right Along...

Finally  got around to posting the finished
frame work for our closets. It's hard to see with just wood posts but
Dustin put in two closets for our room and one closet for the room next to us.
Yaah for closets!

Future heating and air along with the finely
installed insulation!

Dustin and I decided to get out of the house have some fun one
Saturday evening. We went over to our friends place, Eddie & Sarah's, to
play an assortment of interactive games. The highlight of the night was a
crazy wii game called Ravin Rabbids!

Our host, Eddie.

Holiday Recap!

Mrs. K's Toll House:

To start off the Christmas season, my mom, two sisters and Grace hopped in a car and drove to Mrs. K's Toll House Restaurant to meet a couple of my relatives that live in the Maryland area for a lunch in! That evening became the never ending ride accompanied by mother's Christmas singing due to the snowy forcast. ...love you mom! :)

The House:

Little update on the house. Well, we've survived a month of living in our new home and surprisingly enough we have gotten a lot of big things accomplished. And that is all thanks to Dustin! We received our brand new appliances, we've gotten new windows, a new roof, a new water softener system, fixed a nasty leak, put in a new beam in the ceiling and started on electric! I need to keep reminding myself of this big list when I get impatient with wanting the next project to happen. Slowly but surely!

I can see out of my windows!!!!

The new beam! Now we are less likely to fall
through the floor now. Woo!

The fixed leak from our upstairs shower!

Celebrating the first of many Christmas' in our new home.

Landis Family Christmas:

What fun time we had at the Landis homestead! Mom Landis made us a fabulous Christmas dinner. And as usual when we were done, we all unbuttoned our pants and ventured over to the couches! Never a dull moment.... or a quiet moment with 5 nieces and nephews running around. :) That is until someone had the brilliant idea of putting on a movie! As hyper as they are I love them all! It wouldn't be a family gathering without all the noise. Also, the newest member Micah, celebrated his first Christmas! He is now 4 months old!

This seemed to be more appealing to the kids...Foot War!

Vitto Family Christmas:

Another new family member that experienced her first Christmas was Gracie! Now at 6 months old, she can sit up all by herself, eat big girl food, and giggle like her mother! All the kids slept over Christmas eve and woke up all together on Christmas morning. Mom was a fabulous host as usual and made an amazing breakfast for all of us that morning. My grandparents and my aunt and uncle drove down to visit for the Holidays and again, there was never a dull moment. Eating and laughing was our specialty. Grace was pretty much the entertainment for Christmas.  At one point all 12 of us were crowded around the table just watching as Grace sat in the middle of the table, laughing, squealing and smiling. We're entertained easily.

Eric & Heather's Wedding:

Our friends from church invited us to their beautiful Christmas wedding! They met early on in high school and have been dating ever since. Six long years to be exact! They have been waiting so patiently for this day! It was a beautiful ceremony!

Eric sang the song that he wrote for Heather when he proposed to her.
There wasn't a dry eye in the Church!

Me and my love relaxing and enjoying the reception.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!
