Thanksgiving!

I love Thanksgiving!
Eating, laughing and dozing off to a football game with the
family is why the Holidays are so much fun!

Movin' On Up!

The happy day has come when Dustin and I can now say we are official homeowners!! We've worked hard to save those pennies but we realize how blessed we have been over the past year to be able to get to this point. The Lord is faithful! However, the work is far from over my friends. We have decided to venture into a world unknown to us...well..me. A world of dust, dirt, smells and just plain ugliness! Yep, we bought a fixer upper! An 1880's farm house to be exact. As scary as some of it looks, it's got character and we are very excited to give it some TLC to bring it to it's full potential! This will be a great time of stretching and molding of our minds, attitudes, and relationship.. and we are up for the challenge!
Pray for us.. :)

The day of our settlement! Our first housewarming gift
from our realtor. A loaf of bread.... the only thing we will be eating
for the next few years.

Yes, this dinning room has been hand painted.
a rare find...

A close up of the fine painting
I call it "throw up on a wall"

This room has already been turned into....

this.... i dunno..do i scream in horror?

Our windows! ..done with a plastic finish.

It's going to be a hard yet fun journey. And as much as we will make fun of our new
home... (it's only healthy) we are sooo thankful for it!
And with Dustin's expertise and provision of this project I know the house will look
so beautiful when we are finished
.

Aunt "Nooel"

It is so much fun for me to be an Aunt. I love walking into a room and hearing the sound of little feet running to me for a big bear hug. Or the smirk I get from a nephew when I ask him for a hug, but he's not sure whether he wants to hug a girl or not. But then shyly comes to me anyway. Or just simply sitting and watching a little blue eyed charmer smile with such excitement...followed by sporadic leg movement. It's just too cute! I might just become one of those aunts that starts grabbing hold of little kids cheeks and smothers them with kisses....hopefully without the mustache.
Love you Aunt Mary Davis! ;)

Dinner with Selah!
She calls me Aunt "Nooel" which translates to
Aunt Nell...it sounds like she's saying
Aunt No. :/ I guess I have to understand that Janelle is still a little
hard for her to pronounce. She says Uncle Dustin perfectly.

Helping me bake cookies!

Gracie poo just waking up!

It's been a while since I've blogged, but I've been pretty busy making the most of my summer. For the first time in a long time it feels like summer has taken it's good old time. No fly bys....at least for us. Now that summer is coming to an end and Dustin and I have come to a close on our 1 year, I'm so thankful for all the good memories we've been able to make this summer. I've enjoyed it all.... friends, family & new members, God and of course my husband.
