Yesterday morning I woke up to find a mysterious display of happiness outside my window! Wondering which one of my angels did this, I figured it out by looking closer at the planted flowers....

What will I eat? How will I pay the bills? How will I have a happy marriage? How will I have a successful career? Will I be a good parent? Everyone seems to be preoccupied with these kinds of concerns, but Jesus calmed his disciples by giving them a higher purpose. He told them not to worry about their needs in this world, but to instead seek God's kingdom, having the promise that God would then also meet all those needs: "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well," (Matthew 6:33).
"To seek the kingdom of God is to actively receive the eternal life that Jesus brought. Seeking salvation does not end at the time of conversion, but continues throughout the life of each disciple of Jesus. What does that look like? Practicing the presence of God, pursuing His priorities and pouring out for his people."
The enemy wants to use your circumstance against you by making you become anxious when things don't happen on your timetable. He wants you to assume responsibility in that you become the master of your own fate and trust in your own abilities to make things happen... abandoning your faith in Jesus. But Jesus is saying, I don't want you to become anxious about life. I don't want you to feel as if life happens without purpose. "God works all things after the counsel of his own will, " (Eph 1:11). God had a purpose before he ever created a person. And that your existence on Earth has significance!
Seeking His kingdom first is the part that allows you to work the foundation of your faith. To allow God to take you through a wilderness area knowing he's gonna make you the better for it. And then when I get in the middle of the valley, that is not a time for me to leave my faith. But to trust that God is still with me. And that if he has me in the middle of a sunny afternoon, then he has to have me in the middle of a dark night!

This past weekend we went to Maryland to visit the lovely and spunky lady we call grandma.
It's been two years since my grandpa passed so we wanted to celebrate valentines with her.
What a strong lady she is. Always a busy bee with more energy than her grand kids. This is no ordinary grandma. This is a lady at 84 who has an iPhone and texts. A lady who still bowls, golfs, quilts, sings, plays bells, gets on the floor to play with grand kids, never misses a birthday, helps others out and is still one of the smartest card player I know. But we love her most because of her kind heart.
For awhile we've been hearing about how bad her toilets were and how she needed new ones. So what better way to say 'I love you' than replacing someones toilets.
Here she is trying out toilets at Home Depot.

We also convinced her to take out the carpet in her downstairs bathroom that's been their for 40 plus years... that carpet has suffered enough. We believe she was very happy with the results.

This past weekend we had the pleasure of having some of our nieces and nephews over for a sleepover. This was there combined Christmas gift from Uncle Dustin & Aunt Janelle and boy was it a hoot!
We started the night off with a rousing Sorry tournament.

Afterwards we put together a candy craft that was fitting

After we finished our craft, we got our p.j.'s on, grabbed our blankets and got ready for the movie as we dined with hot chocolate and popcorn!
After the movie, the kids headed upstairs to get ready for bed only to find that they turned our upstairs loft/hallway into a slip and slide! This entertained them for about another 45 minutes.

The next morning we woke up to a snow covered yard and enjoyed breakfast while talking about the joys and woes of being a kid. What fun group to hang out with, we had a blast!
