Sunday School Retreat!

Our highly anticipated weekend away in the mountains with our sunday school class finally came! It was a great weekend. Let's just say none of us wanted to come back home.
Here are some photos of the weekend...

All packed and ready to go!
~Our trusty Driver & Navigator~

We stopped on the side of the road for a picture and to
sample the "buffet" at a country bumpkin diner.

2 1/2 hours through the beautiful hills and we finally arrived...
It was a beautifully furnished cabin surrounded by a quiet hillside.

We spent the weekend relaxing and doing different activities, such as...

Rocking and talking

sitting by the campfire and roasting marshmallows

Soaking it up in the hot tub

Playing games and reading magazines

Eating was a big one!
~Peifers and Landis' on breakfast duty~

Learning things about each other..
~like Jay's need to drink his chocolate milk every morning~ :)

More eating..

Cleaning up Husband style

Having great discussions in our group sessions that would
end up going way longer than planned. :)
~Pictured below, one of the awesome couples~

And of course chasing after a skunk with roman candles
~Jeremy in his element~

Our daily walks and talks

Playing Yahtzee and Poker

Fireworks

Manly rounds of jujitsu

sleeping was a favorite!

It was a truly relaxing weekend of connecting with friends,
spouses and the Lord. We are blessed!

  2. To me it looks like a little taste of heaven. What fun! In the midst of the rigors of daily life, you were given this chunk of time in a beautiful place, to just be together. Great post! I love all your warm, genuine smiles.

What a beautiful place! Sounds and looks like you had a great time. We use to have young couple retreats (back when we were YOUNG! ha! ha!)and I remember how special those times were. I'm so glad you were able to get away to have intimate time with your friends and your Heavenly Father.
