We Love Power Washing

After Dustin finished the bedroom, we took a break and headed outside to do more clean up work. We recently purchased a power washer thanks to Dad Landis' love for yard sales. This was fun for us because we got to see instant results.

My Father is the Gardener

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit,
while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."

This is a verse that is well known to me as we've been working in and outside the house.
I'm amazed at the progress we've made in our yard. It still needs some care in certain areas
but my main focus was to get things weeded, trimmed and planted. It was accomplished! I could not have done this
without the help of my mom and mother -in-law. They are responsible for the creativity and the beauty
that lay around my house and I am sooo grateful!

Here is a look at some of the transformations...

EARLY SPRING

A beautiful stone that my grandma gave me
just for my garden.

When we first got to the house, the north side
didn't have much growth.
Then it turned into a jungle of weeds as Spring came.

AFTER
It's hard to appreciate this now but this used
to be a HUGE jungle of weeds.

As you can see behind us, the side of the house had nothing.

Now, it has life!

THANK YOU MOM VITTO & MOM LANDIS!

Hanging with a bird

Having plenty of trees around the house, we definitely
get to listen to the mighty chorus of birds singing!
(not to mention the mighty amount of bird poo on my car)
We've made many bird friends. Some that like to fly and smack themselves into our house,
some that have found a hangout spot on our window sills and recently
one that just wanted to chill with us...

Dustin making a friend...

Confused as to why this bird wouldn't fly away when
we walked up to it, we examined it.
It didn't look hurt, the wings were intact, and it didn't look like a baby bird.
Maybe it's lost and needs some love...
Hmmm... ok, so let's hold it and take a picture with it!
(Don't worry, we washed our hands when we were done.)

Below is another one of our feathered friends
sitting on our window unit smiling for the picture.
We are getting to know the doves very well around here.

~House Update~

Yes! That is a paint roller!
We have officially started to paint the master bedroom!
I will post more pictures when finished.
